Kara
Kara was re-introduced to Pilates following the birth of her second child discovering she had diastasis recti. During the process of closing her diastasis with Lisa Schoenholt of Brooklyn Embodied, Kara became inspired to help other women maintain a healthy inner core and pelvic floor. She enrolled at the Kane School at Kinected Center New York City and became certified in Mat Pilates studying under Kelly Kane. Kara has maintained continuing education at Kinected Center in NYC for various types of mat pilates including prenatal and postnatal classes with Deb Goodman. Following mat certification, she immediately enrolled in a course developed by Lisa Schoenholt, Control D: The Art of Diastasis Repair. In addition, Kara completed a workshop titled Support Your Floor with Carolyn Anthony at the Center for Women’s Health learning how the movement of the pelvis affects the rest of the body. Most recently, Kara has completed multiple courses in both menopause and osteoporosis/osteopenia.
Previously, Kara earned a dual Masters in Education and taught science in NYC for 13 years. She is a proud IVF warrior who struggled with infertility before conceiving her first daughter via IVF. Her fertility journey and complications following birth inspired Kara to help other women. It is her passion to support others struggling with infertility as well as any other person striving for a healthy lifestyle.
Kara currently lives in Westchester County, NY with her husband and two daughters.
